Nishimura Foundation International Scholarship 2025 – Study in Japan with Full Support

The program is supported by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and helps students begin their academic journey in Japan at the undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral level.

  • Osaka University
  • Ritsumeikan University
  • Kwansei Gakuin University
  • Other approved Japanese institutions

Required Documents

Make sure to prepare these documents for your application:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Research proposal (in English or Japanese)
  • Motivation letter (in English or Japanese)
  • Legalized copies of academic transcript and diploma
  • Language certificate (English or Japanese)
  • Letter of recommendation from:
    • A university lecturer or faculty member
    • Office of International Affairs
    • Academic advisor, dean, or program head
  • Letter of Acceptance (LoA) – this can be submitted later
Scholarship Coverage

The scholarship provides the following support:

  • Monthly living allowance of 130,000 Japanese Yen
  • Duration: 2 years for Master’s programs and 3 years for Doctoral programs
  • One-time travel and arrival grant of 150,000 Japanese Yen
  • Payments are made every 3 months

Note: The scholarship will be canceled if you are not accepted into one of the listed Japanese universities.

Application Timeline
  • Application deadline: 10 December 2025
  • All documents must arrive in Yogyakarta by this date
  • Interviews are expected to be held in May 2026
  • Official Letter of Acceptance can be submitted later (by mid-February 2026)
