The International Capital Market Association (ICMA), a leading global trade association, is offering 15 prestigious scholarships in 2025 to economically disadvantaged young individuals who aspire to build a career in capital markets. This initiative aligns with ICMA’s mission to foster inclusion and elevate standards within the global financial sector.
Overview of the ICMA Scholarship 2025
The ICMA Scholarship Programme is designed to open doors for talented individuals from underserved backgrounds in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Through this scholarship, students receive full coverage of all course and exam fees for one of the ICMA Diplomas, offered in partnership with the ICMA Centre at Henley Business School, University of Reading.
Scholarship Highlights
The 12-month Diploma programme is delivered online and offers a mix of self-study and virtual sessions. Each course also includes online exams. Scholarships are available for the following diplomas:
- ICMA Diploma in Debt Capital Markets
- ICMA Diploma in Securities & Derivatives
- ICMA Diploma in Financial Market Operations
Eligibility and Regional Focus
Applicants from the following regions can apply:
- Sub-Saharan Africa: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
- Asia Pacific: Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam.
- Latin America: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay.
Candidates should have a good level of education, interest in finance, and proficiency in English. Eligibility extends to students, working professionals in finance, and aspiring professionals aiming to join the industry.
